According to the Environmental Protection Association sustainability is based on a simple principle. Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our environment. To pursue sustainability is to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations.
The EPA further defines sustainable manufacturing as the creation of manufactured products through economically sound processes that minimize negative environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources. It also enhances employee, community and product safety.
For our part, we have worked very hard to provide products that fall into this category. Products that are recyclable, use recycled content, are source reduced and are compostable. Genpak is committed to looking for new ways to offer truly sustainable products. But we know that it does not stop with just our product offering. To be good stewards of the communities we work in, we often proudly sponsor and participate in local events and beautification programs.
